OREGON WINE

READING BETWEEN THE WINES:

Oregon is really a perfect place for Pinots, as it’s gained much recognition in the last 25 years or more for its Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, argued by some to be the best in the U.S. Vineyards statewide produce fabulous Pinots, as well as some fine Cabernet Sauvignons, Chardonnays, and more.

THE REGION

Nestled in the Cascade Mountain valley, the Oregon wine region covers several areas in the cooler climates of the northwest United States. The major regions are Willamette Valley, Umpqua Valley, Rogue Valley, and Applegate Valley.

THE GRAPES

OREGON REDS:

Pinot Noir

The picky Pinot Noir thrives in the cooler Oregonian climates, leading to some of the best American Noirs that run spicy and full of cherry flavors and summer fruit aromas.

Cabernet Sauvignon

A French original, Cabernet Sauvignon’s black cherry bustle liquefies into the boldest, biggest reds in Oregon. It’s wines come across thick and rich and delicious!

OREGON WHITES:

Pinot Gris

The Pinot Gris basks in the gentle northwest climates and works its magic in Oregon, the only U.S. state its found success in since its Euro days. The Oregonian style of Pinot Gris drizzles crisp exuberant tastes with peach and melon aromas.

Chardonnay

Largely planted the whole world over, this grape actually comes in second to the Pinot Gris in Oregon. While northwest vintners continue to enhance the Chardonnays, the flavors are bright and fruity with vanilla aromas.
